That's what Freud's new Premier Adjustable Rail and Stile router bit systems do. They work exactly like traditional rail and stile router bits to enhance door construction. Adjustable shims enable both a tight fit when using plywood panels and the ability to use thick panels ( from 5.5mm to 6.35mm ). The unique cutter geometry virtually eliminates tearout. Top portion of cutter, including bearing and spindle, is removed to produce the front of the long tenon profile for blind tenons, through tenons, or bridle joints.
